In the 1950s, artist Antonio Berni embarked on a lifelong project chronicling the lives of two fictitious characters: Juanito Laguna and Ramona Montiel. Berni constructed his iconic protagonists with found materials from Argentina’s slums to expose the plight of the poor and dispossessed. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition "Antonio Berni: Juanito and Ramona."
