The 16th annual Museum District Day is part show and tell and part scavenger hunt. It’s one day completely dedicated to exploring all that the district has to offer: from fine art, to historic relics, to scientific wonders.
The participating museums have plenty in store—from new exhibitions to fun activities for the family—and admittance to all 18 venues including the MFAH is free. Rienzi also offers free admission in celebration of Houston Museum District Day.
The MFAH has a full day of family art-making activities, including an oil-painting gallery cart, stocked with art materials and staffed by an art educator, from noon to 2 p.m.
Visitors are also invited to the 2 p.m. reading and book signing of Diane Lovejoy’s Cat Lady Chronicles, about one woman’s rescue of 10 orphaned cats.
Enjoy your day of fun for free!
