“Henry Ossawa Tanner: Modern Spirit” Closing Day Celebration

Sunday, Jan 13, 2013
1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Beck Building
5601 Main Street Map & Directions

Bring the entire family to see the exhibition Henry Ossawa Tanner: Modern Spirit before it closes. Throughout this special day, docents are stationed in the galleries to offer insight and answer questions, and families can participate in a variety of activities that celebrate the exhibition.

Drop in the studio to create an art project, inspired by Tanner’s paintings. In the gallery, be a detective and search for clues about Tanner’s life, inspirations, and artistic techniques; an MFAH educator will share information and materials at the gallery cart. Families can take an artistic journey in the galleries, sketching works of art that feature places Tanner traveled to during his lifetime, and placing their work in an “art passport” portfolio.

All activities are included in your museum admission.
