Known for his sophisticated oil portraits, 18th-century artist George Romney was also a gifted and innovative draftsman. Rienzi has several examples of his drawings, including a rare 1783 sketchbook. Join Dena Woodall, MFAH assistant curator of prints and drawings, for this gallery talk presented in conjunction with the exhibition Visions of Fancy: George Romney, 18th-Century Paintings and Drawings.

On the third Thursday of each month, Rienzi highlights a great work of art in the Rienzi Collection. Gallery Talks are given by museum curators, conservators, educators, and librarians. Admission is free. Reservations are encouraged. Please call 713. 639.7800.
