Family Art Workshop “Animalia: A Children’s Recital” with Mercury Houston

Families come together to create art, write stories and poems, and watch performances inspired by the Rienzi Collection during the Family Art Workshop Series.

Bring out your inner animal! Participate in the interactive children’s recital Animalia, by Mercury – The Orchestra Redefined. The music of Biber's Sonata Representativa takes you on an imaginative tour of a farm. Violin, cello, and harpsichord portray the sounds of barnyard animals, including the purring and meowing cat, and everybody's favorite—the croaking frog. A reception and mask-making project follow. Recommended ages: 4+

Reservations are made by calling 713.639.7800. Admission is free, but space is limited and fills quickly. Guests may check in beginning at 1:45 p.m. No admissions after 2:15 p.m.

Education programs at Rienzi receive generous funding from the Sterling-Turner Foundation;
The Brown Foundation, Inc.; the Carroll Sterling and Harris Masterson III Endowment; and the Caroline Wiess Law Endowment for Rienzi.
