Sunday, Jul 15, 2012
1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Rienzi
1406 Kirby Drive Map & Directions

Family Art Workshops encourage families to come together to create art, write stories and poems, and see performances inspired by the Rienzi Collection. Admission is free, but space is limited and reservations are required. Please call 713. 639.7800 to reserve your spot. Recommended ages: 4+. Please arrive 10 minutes early as this workshop will start promptly at 1 p.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Unfortunately we will not be able to admit students after 1:15 p.m. as they will have missed crucial introductory material.

Join in an engaging afternoon of children’s literature, fantasies, and fairy tales. Younger students explore the many fairy tales written from the point of view of different cultures, then have the opportunity to create and dramatize their own stories. Older students develop unique fantasy narratives in a creative-writing workshop led by instructors from Rice University’s School Literacy and Culture Project.
