Calling all summer sleuths! Go on a summer scavenger hunt through the gardens at Bayou Bend.
 
Self-guided outdoor detective adventures feature educational themes ranging from plants and trees to sculpture and architecture. Every Bayou Bend detective receives an Investigator’s Kit as well as a bottle of water for keeping cool during the hunt. (Please note: Water must be checked prior to entering the house for indoor hunts; no food or drink permitted in the house.)

Detective Days are designed for ages 6 and up. Adventures take place Tuesday through Sunday. No reservations required. Admission is free for ages 12 and younger, and $5 for everyone else. An adult admission must accompany children 12 and younger. For more information, call 713.639.7759.

June Program Themes

“The Case of the Missing Trees”       
Learn about the various tree species in the gardens as you hunt for clues!
(Recommended ages: 6–10)
“On the Trail of the Evolving Plant”
Trace the evolution of flora from simple lichen to complex flowering shrubs.
(Recommended ages: 10–12)
